Post Atomic Bombing frustration
After the first atomic bombing on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 the Japanese tried to negotiate to surrendering but not unconditionally surrender like what Declaration of Potsdam had stated. However, the Allied will only accept the unconditionally surrender. Three days after the bombing on Hiroshima America dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki. Pressuring the Emperor Hirohito to unconditionally surrender. The emperor discussed with the senior officers in order to decide the fate of Japan. "I made efforts to swallow tears and to protect the species of the Japanese nation" said the Emperor Hirohito. They had to surrender because the American falsely threatened that they would drop more atomic bombs on Japan until they surrender (Cheeks). Unable to see the destruction of his own country the emperor broadcast the Imperial Rescript on the Termination of the War in August 15, 1945 ("Emperor Hirohito, Accepting the Potsdam Declaration")
With the casualties about 100,000 death, over 100,000 injured (Olwell), two cities were completely wiped out. All these factors encouraged the Emperor Hirohito to surrender even more.
